Bessie was born on Sept. 14, 1930, to James Lindsay Barnes and LaPreal North Barnes, in Heber City. Bessie had many occupations throughout her life, some of which included being a homemaker and a truck driver hauling sugar beets. She also had numerous hobbies and interests and stayed busy as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Young Women's Secretary, an avid Temple worker going as much as possible, volunteering as a Pink Lady at Tremonton Hospital, as well as participating in many other civic organizations.

Bessie is survived by her brother, Joe (Norma) Barnes, and four sisters, Pat (Bob) Fausett, Janet (Richard) Rhoades, Lucile (Jerry) Giles and Lawna Young; daughter-in-law Marcy Hone; 3 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 special daughter and 2 grandchildren; 3 sister-in-laws and 1 brother-in-law.
