He professed in Christ early in life and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Ida Bray , March 1, 1930. She preceded him in death July 28, 1941.
To this union four sons and two daughters were born. One son Thomas Lee, died in infancy. Surviving are : Mr. Richard Dewayne Underwood of Campbellsville, Star Route, Mr. James Paul Underwood and Mr. Darrell Eugene Underwood, both of Hodgenville , Route # 3, Mrs. Lillie Ellen Skaggs of Shepherdsville, and Mrs. Virginia Buley of , Brooks , Kentucky. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and one sister; Mrs. Mike Kerr of Illinios; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by thr Rev. Garlen Skaggs. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Charlie Shofner, William Pickerell, Coy Morris, Homer Shofner, Lonnie Skaggs and Bradley Underwood.
