Mrs. Selma Ebel Passes Away At Shiner July 3.

Funeral Held Here Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Selma Ebel, former resident of this city, passed away Sunday. July 3rd, at 6:15 a.m. at the residence of her sister, Mrs. J. C. Bluhm, at Shiner. Her passing was not unexpected as she had been an invalid for several years.

Her husband passed away nearly eight years ago. Mrs. Ebel had lived here probably fourteen years, the family coming to Gonzales from Lavaca county.
She was highly esteemed by all who knew her, and had for years been a faithful member of the German Methodist church of this city.
Her remains were laid to rest here in the City Cemetery Sunday afternoon, her pastor, Rev. O. C. Raeke, conducting the funeral services both at Shiner previous to their departure for Gonzales and beside the grave here, where the principal services were held.
Many lovely floral tributes made beautiful her last resting place, among them a special tribute from the Ladies Aid Society of the German Methodist church, of which he had been a member for year. The Young ladies Foreign Missionary Society also sent a special tribute.
The acting pallbearers included F. L. Lang, Otto Ehrig, Albert Spahn Willie Barron, E. C. Pagel and F. C. Nagel.
