She was married to Edward LeRoy Elwood on February 27, 1895. Their children: Samuel Frederick, Lois M., Russell Morton, John Walter, Anna E., Leonard LeRoy, Virgil Olsen, and Audrey May Elwood.

Obituary: Mrs. Roy Elwood Dies Here; was long ill. Mrs. Roy Elwood, 62 who had been in failing health for some time, died last night at her home at 1521 Ella Street. She was born at Dixon, ILL., and before coming to Beatrice 16 years ago the family had resided at Blue Springs for years.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, five sons, and two daughters. They are Samuel, John and Russell Elwood, all of Beatrice, Virgil of Waco, Tex, and Leonard of Tekamaha, Neb;, Mrs. Harlan Heffelfinger of Beatrice and Mrs. WE Fry of Virginia. She also leaves four brothers, Howard, and Harry Beam, Beatrice; Grant, Beatrice, and Samuel Beam, Long Beach, Calif;, four sister, Mrs. H. E. Hill and Mrs. Ella Will, Beatrice; Mrs. Laura Stauefer, Dixon, IL., Mrs. Orpha Hamilton of California, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the First Christian Church, Rev. R. E. Fouts officiating. Burial will be in Harbine Cemetery. The body is at the Harman-Johnson mortuary. It will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 o'clock. 11/12/1939.
