Mr. Abbott was born December 23, 1946, at Harrisonburg and was a son of Frank H. Abbott of Mathias and the late Avis Bowman Abbott.
He was a supervisor for Holly Farms Inc. at New Market and was a member of Mathias Church of the Brethren and Mathias-Baker Volunteer Fire Co.
On October 30, 1965, he married the former Frances DeLawder, who survives.
Besides his father and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Denise Elaine Abbott, at home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Mathias Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Eugene Shaver and Herbert Alford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery at Mathias.
