Frank Harvey Abbott, 84, of Divide Lane, Mathias, WV, died February 17, 2005, at E.A. Hawse Nursing Home in Baker, WV.

He was born September 5, 1920, in Rockingham County, and was a son of the late J.P. and Olive Zirkle Abbott.

He worked at Rockingham Poultry before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Garrett?s Chapel United Methodist Church in Mathias, and a member of Chimney Rock VFW Post No. 9660.

On June 3, 1943, he married the former Avis Bowman, who died February 11, 1961.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Denise Miller of Mathias; a great-granddaughter, Kari Miller; two sisters, Caroline Folks of Bethesda, MD, Lena Coffman of Timberville; a companion, Velma Sager of Mathias.

A son, Cary Abbott, preceded Mr. Abbott in death.

The Revs. Jonathan Hedrick and Greg Quintrell will conduct a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Garrett?s Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mathias.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
