Fancy Farm — Mr. Joseph Thompson, age 90, of Fancy Farm, passed away at 5:55 P.M. Tuesday at his residence.

He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus # 1416, a Kentucky Colonel, director of Obion Creek Watershed, director of Fancy Farm Credit Union for 35 Years, an Army veteran of WWII having served as a medic on the front lines in Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Carrico Thompson; one daughter, Debbie Thompson, Mayfield; one son, Danny "Boone" and wife Theresa Thompson, Fancy Farm; four grandchildren, Joey (Dorcas) Toon, Fancy Farm, Phillip (Amber) Thompson, Morganfield, KY., Chris (Becky) Toon, Fancy Farm, and Ben (Kayla) Thompson, Fancy Farm; five great-grandchildren, Rebecca Toon, Kaitlynn Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Ryan Toon, and Aaron Toon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Ethel Cissell Thompson; six brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm with Rev. Darrell Venters officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Jerome Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Mike Carrico, Paul Carrico, Steve Thompson, David Thompson, Joey Toon, Chris Toon, Phillip Thompson, and Ben Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donald Courtney, Hickman County Judge Executive Greg Pruitt, Eddie Carrico, and Benny Wood.

Friends may call after 5 P.M. Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, where prayers will be said at 7 P.M. Thursday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26.
