Mrs. Pearl Saunders died about noon Saturday at the Morris County Hospital. He was 82 years old.
Born May 27, 1889. at Turon, she moved to Dover, Okla., with her parents. They moved to Council Grove in 1904. She married J. L. Saunders on July 6, 1914. Mrs. Saunders was a member of the United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star, and was active in the Flint Hills Golden Agers Club.
She was preceded in death by one son, Virgil, in 1940.
Surviving relatives include her husband of the home; one daughter - Mrs. Don Mason, Council Grove; one brother - Dan Mauk, Norfolk, Neb.; two grandchildren - Don Mason, Kingman, and JoeAnn DeVivo, Chattanooga, Tenn.; - and two great grandchildren - Jeffry Mason, Kingman, and Cord Conrad, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the United Methodist Church with Rev. V. C. Buttermore officiating. Burial is to be in Greenwood Cemetery with an OES graveside service planned. The body will lie-instate until 12:30 p.m., Tuesday at Kendall Chapel.
A heart memorial has been established in her name. Contributions should be sent to Mrs. L. D. Jernigan, heart memorial chairman.
