Mrs. Sarah JEFFRIES Has Passed Away
Mrs. Sarah Jane JEFFRIES of Russell county, aged 78 years, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. PRINCE, No.
610 Summerville street, Phenix City. The deceased lady came here six weeks ago to visit her daughter, and one week later was taken ill. She
continued to grow worse, despite every effort of the family and physicians, until she died. She had been a great sufferer with rheumatism
and bore her affliction with Christian-like fortitude. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church, and the news of her death
will bring sadness to the hearts of many [sic] who knew her. She is survived by one son, Mr. H. D. JEFFRIES, of Russell county, and two
daughters, Mrs. J. W. PRINCE, of Phenix City, and Mrs. T. P. PRINCE, of Russell county. The funeral will take place from the house this
afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. P. M. GUTHRIE. The interment was [sic] in Girard cemetery. The following gentlemen who were relatives
of the deceased, will act as pallbearers: Messrs. Robert C. KENNINGTON, O. S. PRINCE, Ivey CONWAY, L. CONWAY, John CONWAY and Arthur JEFFRIES.
