Funeral services for Donald Edwin Byrne, Sr. ,age 80, of Natchez, who died Tuesday Nov. 23, at peace in his home after a lengthy illness, will be at 1:00 PM Friday Nov. 26, from New Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dennis Flach officiating and burial to be in the Natchez City Cemetery, under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM noon until service time Friday at the church. Mr. Byrne was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Natchez, Ms, the son of Edwin John Byrne and Ilene Ormsby Byrne. He was a life long resident of Natchez. He owned and operated Byrne Funiture and Sawmill Services and was Elder Emeritus of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Byrne, his son, Mike Byrne, and his sister, Ilene Parker. He is survived by his children: Susan Byrne of Houston, Tx, Jane Byrne of Baton Rouge, La, Peggy Byrne of Lafayette, La, Shirley Byrne of Natchez, Ms, Donald Byrne, Jr. and wife Renee of Senatobia, Ms, Joseph Byrne of Natchez, Ms, and daughter-in-law, Anna Byrne of Natchez, Ms. Grandchildren: Jeanette Britt and husband Adrian, Michael Byrne, Jr. and fiance Samantha Barnes, Eric Byrne and Kelsie Ward, Kaitlyn Byrne and Rebecca Byrne. Great grandchildren: Anna Grace Britt, Joshua Britt, and Trey Byrne. Sister: Eleanor Merrill of Longboat Key, Fl. Brother: Richard Byrne of Crockett, Tx.
