Jack C. Nading, 47, died early today at an Indianapolis hospital where he had been in critical condition since Friday with a gunshot wound in the head.

Mr. Nading, 2220 Union Street, was found Friday lying on a driveway at the Moravian Cemetery in Hope with a .45 caliber pistol wound. A note was found on the body concerning arrangements for funeral and burial.

Authorities at the time said the wound was self-inflicted. He was taken to Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis where he died about 3:30 a.m. today.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Norman Funeral Home in Hope with burial at the Hope Moravian Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Llewellyn, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, will read the rites. Persons may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was a member of the Flat Rock Methodist Church and a veteran of the second world war. Born in Columbus December 15, 1915, he was the son of Martin and Reba Cook Nading. His father died in March and was buried at the Moravian Cemetery.

His mother survives at Flat Rock. Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Robertson Nading; a son, Howard Nading; three daughters, Katherine, Gail and Jean, all at home; three brothers, Martin M. Nading of Fort Wayne; L. Karl Nading of Pompario Beach, Florida; William Donald Nading of Miami, Florida and two grandchildren.
