Per her request, cremation has been accorded. Memorial services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Joe Kobernat will officiate. Inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation for Martha will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Geneseo Good Samaritan Village.
Martha was born on Jan. 12, 1923, in Decatur, Tenn., daughter of Atlas and Vestie Keeton Kelley. She was united in marriage to Charles C. Snider on Dec. 21, 1963, in Moline.
Martha had been employed at Servus Rubber Company, Rock Island, as a seamstress and also at the Maid Rite Restaurant, Colona, as a waitress/cook. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Geneseo, and volunteered at the Geneseo Food Pantry. Martha enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.
Survivors include her husband Charles; a daughter, Joyce (David) Bradley, Junction City, Kan., Charlotte Snider, Geneseo; two granddaughters, Rebecca (Michael) Baramidze, Macomb, and Ronda (Jeff) Bradley, Junction City; and a sister, Mazie Plunk, Henderson, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rickie Phillips; four brothers; and two sisters.
