A. J. Gwin – familiarly known to nearly all the people of the city as "Jack" Gwin – died suddenly at his home on East Market street, between Bank and Third, of heart disease. . . was born and reared in New Albany, and was a son of the late Berry Gwin, for many years proprietor of the Fashion Livery and Sales Stables at East Market and Third streets. His age was fifty-one years. His wife and two sons – H. Wallace and Charles B. Gwin, survive him. He leaves one brother, Charles P. Gwin, of Columbus, Ga., and three sisters – Mrs. Thomas P. Moore, Mrs. Harry King, and Miss Hattie N. Gwin, of this city. He was a brother of the late James Monroe Gwin and Ashbel Willard Gwin. - New Albany Daily Ledger 16 Aug 1901
