Emily Cornhill was born in Toronto, Ontario, 18 April 1847, the daughter of Edward Cornhill and Sarah Fox. The family moved to Chatham,Ontario, after her father died, where she met and married William Willmore 17 Sept 1861. They had twelve children, five sons and seven daughters. Most headed westward to find new land and homesteaded in Canada and the United States. After her husband died in 1924, Emily moved to California to live near four of her daughters who had moved there. Another one arrived a few years later. From time to time she visited Ontario to visit with her two daughters and one son who remained in the area of the original family home. Emily died 11 Apr 1934 after spending ten enjoyable years in California. Her husband William Willmore and several other relatives are buried in the Old Maple Leaf Cemetery, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.

Gravesite Details

Emily is buried in the Mausoleum. Two of her daughters, Mary Louise Willmore Smart and Ada May Willmore Morse are also buried in this cemetery.
