Ernest is son of Josiah Board and Virginia Emeline Harrold-Board. He married Luverba Belt on 22 Dec 1896 in Hardin, Illinois. They had 5 children; Henry, James Aaron, Lydia, Paul E. and William Prentice.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Board, Sparks Hill, Celebrated Their Golden Anniversary
Sunday, Dec. 23, was the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Board of Sparks Hill, but because one of their sons, Paul Board Elizabethtown, was going to have to work that Sunday, the anniversary was celebrated on Sunday, Dec. 16 with a family dinner party at their home.
They have two sons, Paul and Prentice, Elizabethtown, and their daughter, Lydia Belt lives at Marion, Ky.
Mr. and Mrs. Board had been married in Hardin county, 50 years ago, before the days of automobiles and airplanes. Mr. Board remembers that he rode a mule from Peters Creek to Cave-in-Rock, to get a shave before his marriage in the evening.

OBITUARY
Edwin Ernest Board was born near Kuttawa, Ky., on Nov 21, 1870, and died on Feb. 2, 1947, being at the time of his death 76 years, two months and 12 days old. He lived in the state of Kentucky until he was about 18 years of age, when he came to Illinois and has lived in Hardin county since that time.
On Dec. 22, 1895 he was united in holy matrimony to Luberva Belt. To this marriage were born five children, two of whom have preceded him in death. -Henry, who died in infancy, and Aaron, who died at the age of 17 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing a loving wife, three children, Lydia Belt, of Marion, Ky., Paul and Prentice of Elizabethtown, Ill.; one brother, Henry, of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He professed faith in Christ early in life and united with Peters Creek Missionary Baptist church. He did not attend church much in later years, but was a faithful listener to church services on the radio and became a very diligent Bible student.
