Frank P. Moody, 81, of Carrollton, died Tuesday afternoon, October 9, at 12:15 o'clock at the home of his son, Ira S. Moody. He had been ill for four weeks, death resulting from the infirmities of old age. Mr. Moody was born in Carrollton on September 8, 1853, the son of John and Lena (Pugh) Moody. On October 16, 1873 he was married to SARAH C. SMELTZ, who preceded him in death eight years ago.
For many years Mr. Moody conducted a coal business in Carrollton, which business was established by his father more than 80 years ago. Upon his retirement the management was taken over by his son, Ira. Mr. Moody was a member of the Carrollton Methodist Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his son, Ira S. Moody, at whose home he died, and one brother, William Moody of Carrollton.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. J. F. Cash officiating. The body will lie in state at the Church today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Grandview cemetery.
