Daughter of Enos Smith, Wife of John V. Ballard, Mother of Shepard, Sevellon, Guy, Lert & Job∼Wife of John V Ballard, daughter of Enos Smith and Thurza Beebe. Enos Smith was the son of Lockwood Smith, who came to the area after the Revolution from Dutchess Co, NY. I believe Lockwood's father was Reuben Smith, his mother Mary Lockwood from Greenwich, CT. Thurza Beebe was the daughter of 'Cooley' Beebe and Ruth Rogers. I have not been able to identify Cooley Beebe, but Ruth Rogers was the daughter of Joseph Rogers and Susannah Flower from CT. Their ancestry is a mystery to me. The story of Ruth Rogers Beebe Pierce is told in the history books in an article written by one of their descendants, called 'The Pioneering Pierces of Smithfield".
