GLENN 'BUD' SUNDING

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Highmore, for Glenn 'Bud' Sunding with Pastor Steve Meyer officiating. Burial was in the Highmore City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim Hoffman, Morris Hoffman, Stanley Roseland, Steve Roseland, Leonard Haiwick and Glen Walker.

Glenn V. 'Bud' Sunding was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Hyde County, South Dakota, to Carl A. and Robertina (MacDonald) Sunding and died Sept 24, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre, South Dakota, at the age of 71 years and seven months.

He grew up in the Highmore area and attended school in Douglas Township and in Highmore. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He was united in marriage to Alice Gallogly at Cadott, Wisconsin on Nov. 30, 1944. To this union one daughter was born.

After their marriage, they lived on the home place north of Highmore for 40 years, where they farmed and ranched until April 24, 1984, when they retired and moved into Highmore. He served on the Douglas School Board and as the Douglas Township Assessor and Treasurer.

Survivors include: his wife, Alice; one daughter, Glenda Gross, Sioux Falls; one brother, Donald, Highmore; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Leroy; and one sister, Doris.
