Odean Ford Johnson , 97, of Eupora died May 15, 2003, at NMMC-Eupora Hospital. Mrs. Johnson was born in Eupora on Oct. 31, 1905, to Edgar "Ted" Ford and Bessie Bays Ford. She was the second of five children, the others being Essie Ford Embry, Madora Ford Brown, Detroit Ford and Annie V. Ford Draine. Siblings Curtis Ford, Grace Ford Johnson and Alvin Ford were born to Edgar "Ted" Ford and Della Mitchell Dumas Ford. All preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ford was a faithful member of Liberty United Methodist Church since a very early age, where she worked until just a few years ago when her health failed. Some of her participation included Sunday School teacher, choir member, choir treasurer, class leader and United Methodist Women. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Johnson took pride in working on her lawn and growing beautiful flowers, bringing some of them to her church to place on the altar two months of each year.

She was married to the late Rayford Johnson for many years before his death. There were no children. She was employed for many years at the home of T.F. Taylor of Eupora. Her memory is cherished by caretaker and niece Bernice Embry Brister, other nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins and close friends.

Services were May 20 at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bessie B. Givhan officiating. The Rev. Benton C. Tanner, pastor, gave Scripture readings. Burial was in Eupora Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Melvin Lamar Dumas, Courtney Foard, Michael Ford, George Samuel Marshall, Robert Calvin Mays and James Woodard. Roberts and Sons Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
