Mr. McMillan died Tuesday, January 23, 2001. Born in Darlington, he was the son of Lucile Warr McMillan and the late Claude McMillan. He was a member of Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church and the SPEBSQSA, Barber Shop Society. He was past president of the St. Andrews Kiwanis Club. Mr. McMillan was a graduate of Lamar High School and Wofford College. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and served on the Budget and Control Board under Governor Edwards' administration. He retired from the State after 30 years as a Computer Analyst. He was an accomplished musician, playing the fiddle, guitar and mandolin, and he was a wood craftsman. He was a very close friend of Bill W.
Surviving are his wife, Dianne West McMillan, Irmo; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglass Edwin and Lisa and Malcolm West McMillan, all of Lamar, Willis Andrew and Susan McMillan, Atlanta; sister, Harriet Hill, Marion; grandchildren, James, Scott and Jamie McMillan; mother, Lucile, who lives in the Bethea Baptist Home of Darlington.
