Services for Lucile Warr McMillan of Lamar will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the First Baptist Church of Lamar with interment following in Lamar Cemetery.
Mrs. McMillan died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Bethea Baptist Home. She was born on Jan. 31, 1911, a daughter of the late E. P. Warr and Nettie Baker Warr. She was predeceased by a brother, O. L. Warr. Mrs. McMillan graduated from Lamar High School in 1928 and attended Coker College and the University of South Carolina, studying music. She was a talented pianist, homemaker and co-operator of the family farm. Mrs. McMillan was a lifelong member of the Lamar Baptist Church. She was married to the late Claude McMillan and they had two children; the late Willis E. McMillan and Harriet M. Hill; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and Jessie Hill of Marion; their daughters and granddaughters, Laura and Kyle Johnson and Claudia of Atlanta, Ga., Susan and Bill Mason and Amanda of Bay City, Texas. She is also survived by Dianne McMillan, wife of the late Willis McMillan of Irmo and their sons and grandsons, Doug and Lisa McMillan, James, Scott and Jamie of Lamar; Drew and Susan McMillan of Atlanta, Ga. and West McMillan of Lamar.
