Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m.
in the chapel of the Stoffer
Funeral Service in Taft, for Mr. Thomas, 55, of
119 Lierly street, South Taft, who died yesterday
following a short illness.
Born in Booneville, Ark., September 22, 1888,
he had lived in Taft for one month, coming here
from Ventura county. He had been in the state
for two years. Surviving are his widow,
Mrs. Alice G. Thomas, three daughters, Mary
and Margaret Thomas and Mrs. Verna Boatman
and a son, Chester, Jr., all of Taft; three other
sons, James H. of Santa Paula; Kenneth D.
of Angeles and Wendell W. of Camp Luis Obispo,
three brothers and one sister, living in the east.
