James A Arnold built his house in 1821. He was generally called "Jimmie Arnold" and he is buried in the old family burying ground not far from the house. On his grave-stone, it shows that he was born May 22, 1768 and died March 5, 1836. His wife, Nancy, buried by him, was born April 27, 1764 and died August 3, 1817.

These were pioneer settlers. James Arnold had 3 sons and 1 daughter.
His sons: Archibald Arnold, Alexander Arnold and the name of the third is not known.
He had 1 daughter, Nannie who married Major John Cochran, who lived at Deadfall and whose house is still standing.

Major John Cochran died in 1855 at the age of 71, born therefore in 1784. Nannie L Arnold who married Major John Cochran, who lived at Deadfall and whose house is still standing. Major Cochran had a brother Robert, who had a son Was. There is a stone to Robert Cochran, born July 28, 1792 and died 1840.

The children of Maj John who lived down at Deadfall were James, Alexander and John Wesley. He had a daughter, Mrs Mary McNary.
