Raymond was a farmer and lived in Calhoun County all his life. He worked at his daughter Cecil's institution in Kalamazoo as a carekeeper and painter later in life.

Family records say he and his wife are buried at Newton Cemetery.

MARSHALL - Raymond R. Riley, 76, of Leroy Township, died Monday evening in a Kalamazoo hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Riley was born in Marshall, the son of Albert and Abi M. (Reed) Riley. He attended Marshall schools, was graduated from Marshall High School and attended Argubright Business College in Battle Creek. In 1912 he married Eva L. Coats. She died June 22, 1954. Mr. Riley was employed as a decorator. Surviving are two daughters Miss Cecil Riley of Kalamazoo and Mr. Joe (Gladys) Babcock of Owosso; two sons Elton Riley of Sherwood and Adrian of East Leroy; a sister, Mrs. Mark (Olive) Coleman of Battle Creek; a brother Howard Riley of Detroit; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
