Richard Bearden - Sitting in an easy chair, Richard Thomas Bearden suffered a heart attack and died Wednesday at his home on Grassy Mountain on Grant 3. He had lived in that community nearly all his life and had been in good health. He was 72. He was a semi-retired farmer and also worked 19 years for Berry & Cope Construction of Huntsville. He was a member of Grassy Mountain Holiness Church. He liked lo fish and Hunt. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Dunn; 6 Sons, Paul, Monroe, Willard and Royce Bearden all of Grant. Lloyd Bearden of Albertville and Lonnie Bearden of Virginia. 3 Daughters. Doris Saint, Ann Rice, Faye Driver, all of Grant; 4 Brothers, Allen Bearden of New Hope, Roland Bearden of Guntersville, William Bearden of Grant and Carton Bearden of Huntsville. 4 sisters , Annie Mae Tidwell of Huntsville, Nora Belle Davis of New Hope, Alvie Ivey of Huntsville and Minerva Ivey of Huntsville. 32 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. His funeral was Thursday at Grassy Mountain Holiness Church with Bro Junior Reed and Bro Billy Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Panquin Cemetery, directed In New Hope Funeral Home.
