Mel was the oldest son born to WILL & Mabel (Bradley) Austin. He was the brother of Larry, Fred, William & Harold. He married the former Jeanette Morowski in 1940 & they had 7 children. He was a 36 year employee of the Carborundum Plant in Niagara Falls, NY. Mel died at Roswell Cancer Institute, Buffalo, from CANCER
