KINGSTON - Wilmer Bacon, 72 of near here, died at St. Mary's hospital in DeKalb at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 1955, where he had been a patient for one week following a stroke. He was born October 16, 1882 in rural Kingston the son of Elmer and Eliza Stenner - Bacon. He grew to manhood in the Kingston vicinity and was married to Stella Brainard of Kingston on March 11, 1882 in Sycamore where they lived for one year. They moved to Herbert, where he worked as a carpenter, living in that vicinity until 1933 when they moved to Genoa remaining there until 1948. Since that time they have farmed near Kingston, living on the farm he occupied at the time of his death since 1952. He is mourned by his wife, one daughter, Marian Carlson of Genoa, a sister, Mrs. Lena Uplinger of Kingston, a grandson, Wilmer Carlson, who made his home with his grandparents, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George, and a sister, Sara Littlejohn. Funeral arrangements are being made at the Cooper Funeral Home in Genoa. pending word from the relatives. Wilmer Bacon, 72, rural Kingston died Wednesday afternoon in St. Mary's hospital, DeKalb, where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke one week ago. He was born in rural Kingston Oct. 16, 1882, the son of Elmer and Eliza Stenner Bacon and spent most of his life in this vicinity. His marriage to Stella Brainard took place March 11, 1908 in Sycamore, where they lived for one year before moving to Herbert where Bacon was employed as a carpenter until 1933. The couple moved from Herbert to Genoa, where they resided until moving to the rural Kingston area. Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Carlson of Genoa; one sister, Mrs. Lena Uplinger of Kingston; one grandson, Wilmer Carlson, who lived with his grandparents, and nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother, George, and one sister, Clara Littlejohn, preceded Bacon in death. Funeral arrangements are being completed at the Cooper funeral home in Genoa, where friends may call after Friday noon.
