SANFORD, FLA. - Bettie Waltrip Garrett, 82, died September 30, 2002, in Sanford, Fl. She was a native of Williamsburg, VA. She was born November 14, 1920, to Archie L. Waltrip Sr. and Caroline E. Wilson. Bettie was an employee of Colonial Williamsburg and a member of The Williamsburg Church of Christ. Her husband, Robert H. Garrett Sr., and a son, Robert H. Garrett Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Phyllis Garrett Taylor, Bettie May Nixon and husband, Jack, Sharon G. Moss, all of Williamsburg, Debbie J. Alsip and her husband, Gilbert, of Florida; son, Mark S. Garrett and his wife, Karen, of Williamsburg; daughter-in-law, Shirley Martin Garrett of Georgia; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a sister Mildred Coon of Maryland. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. today at The Williamsburg Church of Christ, 227 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, VA. Burial at Olive Branch Christian Church Cemetery. The Vincent Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Toano Rescue Squad, 3135 Forge Rd., Toano, VA 23168.
