WILLIAM H. BOWARD

William Henry Boward, 74, of 309 Summit Ave., husband of Mrs. Emma C. (Shindle) Boward, died at the Western Maryland State Hospital, Hagerstown, Thursday, 5:45 a.m.

Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary M. (Gossard) Boward. He resided in Hagerstown most of his life. Mr. Boward was an active member of the Otterbein U.B. Church and was church treasurer for several years. He was a retired employee of the North American Cement Corporation.

Besides his widow he is survived by his sons, Glessner C. Boward, Kenneth W. Boward, and Robert W. Boward, all of Hagerstown; sisters, Mrs. Mollie Blubaugh, Waynesboro; Mrs. Rebecca Shelley, West Milton, Ohio; Mrs. Alice Hafer, Pittsburgh, Miss Pearl Boward and Mrs. Elva Bondra, bot of Seattle, Wash., and brother Daniel Boward, Hagerstown.

Funeral services will be held at the Norment Funeral Home, Hagerstown, Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Frank G. Mentzer officiating assisted by the Reve. N.W. Brachbiel. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
