Edward H. Fairbank, 87, of Columbia died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at West Village Manor in Columbia.

Services will be held at a later date in West Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Fairbank was born Oct. 26, 1914, in West Chicago, Ill., to Allen Frank and Florance [sic, recte Florence] Norris Fairbank.

He moved to Columbia in 1992 from Alton, Ill. He was a partner in an architectural firm in Geneva, Ill., for 35 years.

Survivors include three sons, Donn Fairbank of Naperville, Ill., Paul Fairbank of St. Louis and Tod Fairbank of Aurora, Ill.; five daughters, Anafred Fessler and Lois Walker, both of Columbia, Carolyn Garbacz of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Dorsey of St. Charles, Ill., and Robin Purcell of Arlington, Mass.; a sister, Marjorie Ryan of Valley Forge, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Memorials are suggested to the Eldercare Center, 137 Clark Hall, Columbia, Mo., 65211.
