Mrs. Smith, wife of the late Arthur C. Smith, was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Duke and Mattie Rabon. She was a cotton mill employee and a farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Arthur Smith Jr. of Pamplico, Donald R. Smith of Scranton and Ronnie Smith of Timmonsville; a daughter, Molly Ann Newman of Grand Rivers, Ky.; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by four children, Edward Smith, Harry C. Smith, Frank Smith and Mary Frances Moore.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in the Chapel of Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway, with burial to follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
