Gwen was born Dec 1, 1920 in Logan, UT to Oswald and Jennie Hawkins. On Dec 12, 1941, she married J. Perry Polson in Salt Lake City, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Gwen spent much of her life in Provo where her husband taught at BYU. She was a gracious and kind woman who would do anything for her children. Her favorite enjoyment was playing the piano, which she performed with excellence. She received a music scholarship at the University of Utah. Her music skills were often a valuable resource in the LDS church. We will miss her but feel confident she has moved on to an even greater life.
Gwen is survived by her children, Robert, Karen, Janice, James; sisters, LaRhea Marchant, Wilma Walgren; and brother, Dale Hawkins. Preceded in death by one son, David.
Services will be Tues. Jan 30, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E, where friends may call 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Provo City Cemetery.
