Patrick C. Linnane, for 17 years janitor at Weir Grammar School, died this morning at his home, 152 Weir Street after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Linnane was born in this city. He was a painter by trade and for many years was employed on the Old Colony Railroad. Later he became a fireman at the U.S. fisheries station at Woods Hole, coming to this city in 1912 to become janitor at the Weir School. He was esteemed by teachers an pupils alike for his gentle and kindly nature. A charter member of Court 73, M.C.O.F., he was also a member of the Massachusetts Permanent Janitors and Custodians Benefit Association. An injury sustained when a ladder fell at the school three years ago impaired his health and led up to his resignation as assistant janitor. He resigned his position in April. Mr. Linnane is survived by his widow, by a son, Francis P. Linnane; by three daughters, Mrs. Edward J. Sheehan of Falmouth, Mrs. Charles C. Cain Jr., and Mrs. Fred A. Clapp; one sister, Mrs. Francis J. Conaty, and by 13 grandchildren, one of whom, Miss Helen M. Linnane made her home with her grandparents.
