Mary Catherine Meerian, daughter of George and Philomena Robben, was born Aug. 28, 1884, at Walker, Kans., and died May 14, 1978, at the Logan County hospital, Oakley, Kans.

She lived at Walker until she was fourteen years old and moved to Angelus, Kans., with her family at that time.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 6, 1907, to Frank A. Meerian in St. Paul's Catholic church, Angelus. To this union nine children were born.

The family lived on a farm near Angelus where they were engaged in farming until 1950 when they moved to Oakley.

Mrs. Meerian was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, Feb. 27, 1965, her parents, one brother, Clem Robben, two sisters, Regina Baalman and Philomena Robber and two daughters, Helen in 1935 and Anna (Sister Laura) in 1962.

Survivors include three brothers, Joe, Hoxie, and Matt and Paul Robben, Wichita, Kans., seven sisters, Sister Catona, Salina, Sister Helena, Grand Island, Nebr., Josephine Karls, Clara Fortin and Agnes Bruggaman, Leoville, Kans., Helen Campbell, Hoxie, and Theresa Hickert, New Amelo, five sons, George, William and Henry, Oakley, Raymond, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bernard, Minneapolis, Kans., two daughters, Clara (Mrs. Frank Wolf) and Mary (Mrs. Fred Wolf) both of Grinnell, Kans., 30 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Meerian spent the last six years of her life residing at Parkside Manor in Oakley.

She was a devout Catholic and was active in the altar society.

Father Maurice Ptacek officiated at the funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Oakley, May 17. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
