Charles was born in Ohio County, Ky., to Silas and Bessie Pate Bolton. He married Alice Yoakum on March 27, 1937 in Boonville. He attended the Gateway Baptist Church in Newburgh. Charles worked for 15 years for Hoosier Cardinal in Evansville and retired from Kight Lumber Company in Newburgh after 23 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking after his retirement.
He was preceded in death by a son, Garland Bolton, in 1998; an infant son, Charles Ray, in 1939; one brother; and two sisters.
