Esther Edith Boone Foster
SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services for Esther Edith Boone Foster, 88, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Howard Hall and Bro. Steve Slaughter. Interment will follow at NW LA Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 -12:00.Wednesday at the funeral home.
Esther was born June 11, 1923 in Pelican, LA to Norman and Minnie Whatley Boone. She passed away April 28, 2012. Esther graduated from Pelican High School and Norton Business School. She was a longtime member of Sunset Acres Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was active in WMU and in the college age class. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eastern Star. Esther was famous for delicious desserts, enjoyed working in the yard, exercising, and cruising.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W.H. (Pete) and Artie Boone; and sisters, Blanche Butler, Bernice Huckaby, and Cleo Durr. Surviving are her husband, John "Jack" Foster; son, John F. Foster (Cindy); daughter, Cindy Foster Fairchild (Richard); granddaughter, Christy Fairchild Howard (Brian); great-grandchildren, Grant, Blake, and Cole Howard; and siblings, Exa Boone Brown and Orie Lee Rossiter.
Pallbearers will be Dana Foster, John Wayne Foster, Mike Pournoury, Bill Pierce, Ron Grossi and Scott Miller.
