January 17, 1926 - March 24, 2022
Exa Boone Brown, 96, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away March 24, 2022. She was the eighth child born on January 17, 1926, in Pelican, Louisiana, to the late John Norman Boone and Minnie Lee Watley Boone.
She was born and worked on the family farm in Louisiana during the Great Depression where hard work and a reputation for keeping one's word were keystones for success. She stressed those values to her four children, Paulette McNatt, Barbara DeMarcus, Dan, and Michael.
Her first husband, Paul Goodrich, a pilot, was killed fighting for his country during World War II. Her second husband, Floyd Vernon Brown, who predeceased her, grew up on a farm near her family farm.
As a single mother, she worked for decades in several clerical positions and through her wise decision-making, she came to own most of both farms—an accomplishment in which she took great pride.
She is survived by grandchildren, Marisa Beller, Cameron Brown, Daniel Brown and Steven Michael DeMarcus; and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Beller, Silas DeMarcus and Emerson Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs.
