S.D. "Doug" Brooks, 84, passed away, Saturday, January 12, 2002 at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.
He was a resident of Anahuac since 1972. He worked for Humble Oil and Refining for 25 years and retired in 1972. He was a veteran of W.W.II and served in the Navy. He was a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of Exxon Annuities, former member of Anahuac Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years Barbara Brooks of Anahuac; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Allen Hightower of Silsbee; stepchildren, Maxine Hill of Raywood; Karen Reavis of Liberty; John Watts, Jr. of Anahuac; Louis Watts of Winnie; Jamie Jones of Eagle Lake; Judy Huebner of Dayton; Clarissa Watts of Anahuac; Samantha Watts of Beaumont; Debra Hall of Sealy; grandchildren, Gary Hightower of Nederland; Kristi Soileau of Kountze; 23 step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. today, January 17, 2002 at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown.
Interment will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd., Baytown.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hightower, Gary Hightower, Michael Hall, John Watts, Jr., Louis Watts, Willie Webber, Timothy Jones, Dale Reavis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Irvin Cox, Dave Wilcox, Carmen Stockwell, Ross Watts, Larry Huebner, Sr., and Ronnie Hill.
