Uncle Eddie Brooks first married Emma Bell Myers on February 3, 1919, in Jefferson County, Texs. There were three daughters, Margaret Brooks Richardson, Dorothy Brooks Davis, and Bernice Brooks Cline, and one son, Jesse Edward Brooks, Jr., born in this marriage.
After his divorce from Emma Bell, Eddie Brooks married a young widow, Annie Robinson Walters, in 1936. They had no children. Annie had two children from her first marriage. Eddie and Annie Brooks were married 53 years when Eddie died at their home in 1990.

OBITUARY FROM THE BAYTOWN SUN: JESSIE BROOKS
Services for Jessie Edward Brooks, 91, of Baytown will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Navarre's Paul U. Lee Chapel with the Rev. James Frazier officiating. Brooks, who was born in Cedar Bayou on March 20, 1898, died Monday at his home. He was a lifetime resident of Baytown who retired from the dock operations of the Humble Oil & Refining Co. He was a member of the Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church. Brooks was preceded in death by his daughters, Margaret Richardson, Dorothy Davis and Bernice Cline. He is survived by his wife, Annie Brooks of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, J. E. and Fannie Brooks of Crosby and E. W. and Karol Walters of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Laverne and Hal Ladd of Hardin; brothers, William "Bud" Brooks of Baytown and Douglas Brooks of Anahuac; grandchildren, Marsha McCullough, Terri Andreason, Linda Wheeler, Karol Waldman, Khristine Harris, Kathy Turman, Kevin Ladd; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Harris, Stuart Waldman, Kevin Ladd, Hal Ladd, Mark Andreason, and Gary Davis. Services are under the direction of Navarre's Paul U. Lee Funeral Home.
