PAXTON — Toni M. Swan, 53, of rural Paxton died at 7:30 p.m. Friday (April 27, 2012) following a car accident in rural Loda.

Toni was born Nov. 22, 1958, in Paxton, the daughter of Gerald W. and Rosann Thilmony Boman. She married Dean Swan on Nov. 27, 2004, in Paxton. He survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lindsay Swan, Paxton; two stepdaughters, Breann and Alyssa Swan of Paxton; a stepgranddaughter, Leeanna Swan; one brother, Terry (Beth) Boman, rural Loda; three sisters, Tammy (Ron) Ross, rural Paxton; Twila (Jeff) Johnson, Loda; and Tiffani (Brad) Lutz, Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Brad Swan (1983-2008).

Toni graduated from Buckley-Loda High School in 1976. She was a co-owner and operator of Paxton Firestone for a number of years. She worked for the Paxton Daily Record for almost 25 years and was the office manager and agent for Insurance Providers Group of Roberts.

Toni was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Loda and a member of the I&I Antique Tractor Club of Penfield. She was a former Button Township Trustee, a former member of the Paxton Park District, a 4-H leader and Cub Scout den mother. She was one of the original organizers of the Paxton Christmas Parade.

Toni was very active in genealogy; she had taken over 5,000 pictures of grave markers and posted them on "Find a Grave."

She enjoyed quilting and loved the outdoors, including working in her yard, tending to her flower garden and helping her husband farm. She was very family-oriented and the very "best" mom, sister and aunt.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Loda, with the Rev. Jose Kadukunnel officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton, with a recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
