William E. Fazenbaker, aged 74 years, died Tuesday at his home in Cumberland, following several months’ illness.
Mr. Fazenbaker was born February 20, 1847, on a farm in Allegany County – now Garrett County, Maryland. He entered the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company service in the Piedmont shops in 1864. A few years later he was assigned to firing an engine and was advanced from time to time until he became a reliable passenger engineer.
He was retired after fifty years service with the company.
