The following obituary of his wife shows the death date of M. H. Corn. It is not known if he is buried in Lamar County. THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, April 7, 1963, p.6: 'Mrs. Annie Bell Corn, 89, familiarly known as Granny Corn, died at home, 702 Main St., Saturday at 2:45 p.m. She was the widow of M. H. (Bud) Corn, who died in June, 1920. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Rose Long, and a son, Bill Corn, both making their home together with her, and 56 other descendants in three generations. She was born in Red River County, March, 17, 1874, daughter of Jim and Lizzie (Turpin) Jackson, and had lived here since 1937. She was a Baptist. Gene Roden & Sons have charge of arrangements for burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery, but other details were incomplete.'

Suggested edit: Name from the marker is hard to read, but it should be Merritt -- Son of Wm. M Corn (son of Elizabeth Clarkson and Merritt Corn) and Nancy Corn (son of Wm Geo Corn and a Clarkson sister of Elizabeth), the father and mother were 'double first cousins' (two sisters married two brothers). The parents are on the Lamar Co., TX Prct 6, 1860 census, as newlyweds. They are on the Lamar Co. Beat 4 1870 census with James R. ("Jimmy") b. 1860 (his age is incorrect in the census) and John (also an error - Merritt Houston was the other son), b. 1862, next door to WmM's younger brother Merritt. Probate records in Lamar Co., TX confirm that Merritt Houston Corn was the son of Wm M and Nancy Corn.

I have copy of relevant probate records, and they are uploaded to Ancestry.com.
