W.F. 'Mutt' Crumpler
ANSON - W.F. "Mutt" Crumpler, 82, longtime owner of Palace Barber Shop, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loren Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Crumpler was born in Wood County and moved to Jones County as a child. He attended Sinclair school, Anson High School and barber college in Dallas. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He entered the insurance business in 1968 and retired in 1973. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Celestine "Sis" Parker in 1933 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; one daughter, Danna Mussman of Brady; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
