Joe Meenan was one of 7 children born to Richard and Elizabeth D Meenan prior to 1900. In November of 1900 the seriousness of diphtheria fell upon the lives of this family and the lives of 3 children. Joe died a few days after a brother and a sister had died. The three siblings were laid to rest in this Lutheran cemetery at Curtis. Joe's father, Richard, sold the Colorado ranch that was in the vicinity of this cemetery in 1916 and moved to California.
