Frankie Meenan was one of 7 children born to Richard and Elizabeth D Meenan prior to 1900. They lived on a ranch northeast of Akron, Colorado in the vicinity of this cemetery. In November of 1900 the seriousness of diphtheria fell upon the lives of this family and the lives of 3 children. Frankie died on Thanksgiving day, November 29, 1900, just one day before his sister, Etta, died and 5 days before his older brother, Joe. They were laid to rest in this Lutheran cemetery at Curtis.
