Bertha Wichman Chilton Times April 17, 1909

Died While Visiting
On Monday afternoon, April 12, at the home of her mother, in Gravesville, Mrs. Bertha Wichman, aged 33 years, 1 month and 9 days. Mrs. Wichman's death was a severe shock to her husband, relatives and friends. For some time she had been ailing but her illness was not thought to be of a serious nature. On Wednesday of last week she came to Gravesville from Wittenberg to visit her mother, Mrs. Louisa Broker and sister, Mrs. Louis Pingel. Shortly after her arrival she was taken seriously ill and the relatives became alarmed and on Sunday a Milwaukee physician was called into consultation with the local physician but could do nothing for the unfortunate woman who was suffering from a complication of diseases.
The deceased was a daughter of the late Bernard and Louisa Broker and was born in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, March 3, 1876. Some nineteen years ago she came to Chilton town with her parents and in 1897 was married to Wm. J Wichmann and moved to Wittenberg where they since made their home. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon from the Ebenezer Reformed church. Rev. W Arpke conducted the services, with interment in the Breed cemetery. She is survived by a husband, one son and other relatives.
