ALVIN O BASQUIN--59:
died last week Wed-nesday [12-27] of pneumonia; he lived south of Madison.
He leaves a wife & daughter, Maude Basquin, who is a teacher in the Madison public schools.

ALVIN OLIVER BASQUIN:
The funeral of A O Basquin who died 27 Dec 1904 was held at his late residence 29 Dec 1904. A large number of sympathetic friends paid the last tribute to the man who as his pastor, Rev TP Thomas, said "Left to the world the legacy of a good name" and which the "Good Book" says "is rather to be chosen than great riches". He was born in Thompson 11 Jan 1845 & had he lived a few days longer he would have been 60 years of age.
Of his immediate family a wife & 1 daughter-Maud, survive. A daughter-Nettie, died in early womanhood & a son-Grant, in infancy. Three sisters & 1 brother of his father's family remain.
Upon the casket were beautiful flowers, the gifts of friends, Madison Grange Rebekahs, Primary Department school, Miss Ryder & Miss Kimball.
