An all day's search yesterday in the heavily wooded Young's Hollow for George Bolden, alleged to have shot and perhaps fatally wounded Walter E. Blake, Malden district constable, proved futile.
County officers believe, that the man is not hidden in that vicinity, but escaped after fleeing up the hollow past his home Friday night.
The woods where he is supposed to have fled after shooting Blake twice in the stomach, after he had been arrested were searched thoroughly by Sheriff Walker and his men.
A deputy sheriff kept a close watch on his home yesterday.
It was said that a photograph of Bolden was obtained from his sweetheart who lives in the Campbells Creek neighborhood. Nothing could be learned from her as to the man's where abouts.
George Rhoades, 21, of Campbell's creek, was arrested yesterday by state police and bound over to the grand jury on the charge of being implicated in the shooting. It is alleged in the warrant that Rhoades had several times publicly threatened to kill Blake, and that he was with Bolden at the time of the shooting.
Blake at a late hour last night was said to show llttle change in his condition. He was said to be in a critical condition, however.
It was stated at the county sheriff's office last night that posters would be distributed with Bolden's photograph and descriptions if he was not apprehended within the next few days.

(Note) It is my understanding that Walter renounced the Klan because he was against them lynching negros and especially one of his friends, (Benny Brown). I don't know why they still were in charge of his burial, unless it was because his wife was also a member.
George Bolden, alleged slayer of Constable W. E. Blake was arrested at 10 o'clock this morning near Perryville, Malden district, by Deputy Prohibition Officer, H.H. Williams.
Bolden was in a closed car with some other men. They said he was on his way to Charleston to give up to the sheriff.
Bolden is said to have admitted the shooting.
Bolden had been in the woods since Friday night without anything to eat. He came to the house of a friend, William Bowles, in Malden district and gave himself up. Bolden said that this was done so his friends could recieve any reward that had been offered.
Bowles and Bolden were in a close car coming to Charleston when they met Prohibition Officer Williams, Bowles shouted to Williams that Bolden was in the car and come get him.
A special grand jury had been called for Thursday for the purpose of indicting Bolden and to question witnesses of the shooting which resulted in Blakes death early yesterday morning. Sheriff Walker and Prosecuting Attorney appeared before Judge Black of the intermediate courttoday and asked that the jury be called.
Members of the Ku Klux Klan, of which Blake was a member, announced that a $250 reward be given for Bolden's arrest.
The formal funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Spring Fork, about two miles up Campbells Creek, from Dana. The klansman will take charge of the body at the Blake residence at 10 o'clock tonight. Burial will be made then in the local cemetery, following the clan ceremonies, under the emblem of the order, the burning of the cross.
For several years, Blake had been an officer of the law in Malden district, and at the time of his death, was a constable and prohibition officer. He is survived by Mrs. Blake and two children.
Walter's parents were William Blake and Josephine Light.
Walter married Ollie Cochran on Jan 18, 1908 in Kanawha County by Rev. John W. Johnson.
Walter married Mary Elma Hunt (24, single & b. Jackson Co) on June 8, 1914 in Kanawha County by Rev. J.C. Cline.
