PURDY, Alice Charlene "Pug" (Age 67)

A very longtime resident of Deer Park, Washington, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Pug is the dear wife of Richard L. "Dick" Purdy of Deer Park (married 50 years), and the loving mother of Gerildene White of Spokane and Renee Jensen of Deer Park. She enjoyed five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born in 1941 in Glendale, Arizona, Pug attended the Deer Park Grade School and High School and graduated with an Associates of Art Degree in Health Information Systems from Spokane Community College. She is a certified Health Information Specialist. Her memberships include the St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church and Altar Society, Hassie Car Club in Spokane; Happy Hookers Sewing Club in Deer Park; TOPS; and the Deer Park Eagles' CBRV Club. Pug loved to teach crafts and painting. Her love for oak is very reflective in the cabinets and furniture she built and finished so beautifully. A Rosary Service will be at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 10, 2009, and the Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 11, 2009, both at St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park directed by the LAUER FUNERAL HOME in DEER PARK, WA, with Rev. Father Albert Grasher, Jr. celebrant. Pug's family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be given to St. Mary's Altar Society or the church's new building fund, P.O. Box 749, Deer Park, WA 99006-0749. A reception for all family and friends will be held at the Deer Park Eagles Lodge at 1:00 P.M. following the funeral mass. Your attendance will be appreciated.
