Funeral services for Mattie Washburn Cochran, 76 of Maron, Ala. were held May 26, 1989 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Hale County. The Rev. Aurthur Marchant and the Rev. Robert Woodard officiated at the 11:00 a.m. ceremony, with Kirk Funeral Home Marion directing. Interment followed in the church ceremony.
Mrs. Cochran died at her residence on May 24,1989.
Survivors included her husband Jamse H. Cochran, Marion; one daughter, Elizabeth Johnson, Marion; five sons, James O. Cochran and William H. Cochran, both of Marion, John T. Cochran and Earnest E Cochran, both of Greensboro, Ala. and Robert G. Cochran, Bossier City, La; Four brothers, Julian Washburn, Greensboro, Carl G. Washburn and Jeff O. Washburn, both of Marion, and Boyd Washburn of Talledega, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Greg Cochran, Perry Cochran, Mike Cochran, Ron Cochran, Bruce Cochran, Joey Johnson, Steve Johnson and Brian Cochran.
